Let’s unforget women in architecture + design by writing them into Wikipedia in solidarity with The 2016 Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on March 5th.  Female participation and documentation is vital to this important repository of shared knowledge.  AWA+D will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, reference materials, and refreshments. Bring your laptop, power cord and ideas for entries that need updating or creation. Let’s write ourselves back into history!

The last of the BIM Series, Part Three will focus on construction BIM, where the process of design documentation and building construction become integrated. Join us for a fireside chat between a construction BIM coordinator and an architect about the BIM process that occurs on the construction site, including the benefits of sharing models, lessons learned (or lessons we wish we would learn from each other), and the potential partnerships that can develop when construction and design teams choose to focus on the same goals.

Traditional Knowledge and the Built Environment: Redefining the Design Process & Expanded Dimensions of Indigenous Space.

Join fellow members of the design community for the next installment of this monthly gathering – a casual meet-up to observe, sketch and let the creative juices flow in a metropolitan environment. BYOS (Bring your own supplies).

Part Two of the BIM series will focus on the BIM process for contract documents, including how to balance the BIM goals with the effort to accomplish deliverables. An interactive discussion about design documentation, platform migration, and project management, associated with different project delivery requirements will be encouraged.

Celebrate 2015

Learn about the basics of BIM process and the advantages of applying some of them to conceptual design development. We will explore new methods currently available for digitizing an idea sketch into a BIM platform so that it can be shared and developed further collaboratively.
